Yan Li is an experienced materials scientist specializing in next-generation lithium-ion battery technologies. He currently serves as R&D Manager and Staff Research Scientist at Princeton NuEnergy (PNE), where he leads research and scale-up efforts in direct recycling, upcycling, and advanced synthesis of cathode materials. He received his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of Rochester, with a research background spanning electrochemical materials, energy storage, and scalable manufacturing processes. His recent work focuses on innovating sustainable pathways for closed-loop regeneration of high-performance cathodes, including high-Ni NCM, LFP, LMFP and emerging chemistries, as well as developing pilot- and production-scale processes for industrial deployment.
