Dr. Jie Xiao is currently a Boeing Martin Professor at the University of Washing. She also holds a joint appointment with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) as a Battelle Fellow. Dr. Xiao has been leading research in both fundamental and applied research in energy storage materials, systems and manufacturing. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Department of Energy (DOE)’s Innovation Center for Battery500 Consortium. She is also the Director of DOE’s Cathode-Electrolyte Interphase Consortium. She has published more than 100 peer-reviewed journal papers and been repeatedly named top 1% Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researcher. She holds twenty-seven patents in energy storage area and seven of them have been licensed to industry. Dr. Xiao is the recipient of a few awards such as DOE’s E. O. Lawrence Award, Battelle Distinguished Inventor etc.
